OZARI: Ozari Xetkari Nagrik Kruti Samiti on Friday called for firelight procession on eve of 60th Goa Liberation Day in Ozari village of Pernem demanding justice to the villagers and large number of Ozari villagers also participated in the torch rally.

The villagers informed that Goa State will be celebrating the 60th Liberation Day on December 19, however, their village is still not liberated since the Ozari village is being haunted by the court receivers rule.

“We have our houses, our land but we don’t have right on the same because of existence of court receiver. People are unable to repair their houses or have new constructions in the village because it is said to be illegal since on One and Fourteen Form, court receiver is notified,” Adv Narayan Kalangutkar said.

“Our village is under tragic situation since there is no document existing in the Archives regarding the ownership or mode of transfer of property of Ozari village. Goa is liberated but Ozari villagers are being harassed by the court receivers. We have already made representations to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and request him to intervene into the same,” Adv Kalangutkar said. The villagers said that they are going to raise their voice and even challenge this rule to seek justice.
