Paikul locals hold protest march, demand village bridge

SATTARI: Paikul villagers on Tuesday protest marched to Mamlatdar office and demanded to build the village bridge immediately, absence of which recurred manifold problems alongside the basics like water shortage and tripping network connectivity. The bridge had collapsed during the flood-like situation the State endured mid-monsoon.
“Despite the several reminders regarding our problems to the Valpoi Mamlatdar he didn’t act. He failed to solve our problems,” say Paikul villagers.
The Government has made a temporary road for Paikul villagers from Bondla wildlife sanctuary, but that temporary road is not good for villagers to travel as it’s not commutable during the night, claimed villagers.
“After our bridge collapsed, our lives have become worst. We cannot move out from our village. Our cow milk is getting wasted and other agriculture crops are getting spoiled as we are unable to sell it in the market. The authorities have been failed to solve our problems,” said Ajit Desai.
A villager Shankar Naik said that the local panch members have not informed about the issues to the Mamlatdar, Deputy Collector and the local MLA. “We demand the resignation of all panch members,” said Naik
