PANJIM: In view of certain issues raised by senior citizens of Palmar Colony, Bambolim such as illegal diversion of road for public use, the St Cruz Village Panchayat has said the matter will shortly be resolved.
“We are aware about the issue and I have assured the senior citizens of this colony to sort the matter out soon. We will expedite the matter,” Acting Sarpanch Indira Fernandes said.
A group of senior citizens have recently moved the National Human Rights Commission alleging that EPC contractor of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) diverted the public transport through their colony, which has caused them inconvenience and it has also damage the internal road.
The firm which brought up the residential buildings close to three decades ago stated that on completion of the demarcation of plots and access road, it was handed over to the Santa Cruz Panchayat.
