Panchas warn of stir if govt fails to repair pot-holes on Borim Bridge

PONDA: Borim deputy sarpanch Constancio Luis and panch Sunil Sawkar have threatened to launch an agitation along with the locals if government fails to repair the pot-hole-ridden Borim Bridge within a fortnight. 
Luis claimed the bridge is pot-hole-ridden and burdened with heavy traffic diverted from Zuari Bridge. 
He said motorists are inconvenienced due to presence of potholes and called upon the government to stop heavy traffic on the bridge.
Sunil said, “We had protested at the spot with the demand to repair Borim Bridge which has been shaking due to the utter neglect by the authorities. Now, the massive potholes will surely lead to accidents and before that the government should repair of pothole-ridden Borim Bridge. 
The panchas have served a 15-day deadline to repair failing which they have threatened to hit the road along with the locals.
Panch Vinay Parpathi along with the locals informed the media that the Bythokhol Borim Road needs urgent attention as the road has turned unmotorable.  
He said a huge trench on the road has made commuting dangerous. 
The road had deteriorated before monsoon but the authorities turned a blind eye to the same. 
The locals have demanded that the Bythokhol road be repaired soon to ensure the safety of the motorists.
