PANJIM: Panchayat Minister Mauvin Godinho said panchayats have been tasked with completing all pre-monsoon works to ensure free flow of water during the monsoon. This is to avoid any flood-like situation from occurring.
Mauvin said, “An amount of Rs 2 lakhs has been sanctioned to smaller panchayats and 5 lakhs to bigger panchayats.”
The same amount has been given to panchayats to spend on helping people affected by COVID as per the requirement in their respective village,” he added.
He added that he trusts the panchayats to utilise these funds properly and not divert these funds for any other purpose.
