Borim: There is panic in areas around Borim as local youth Uday Gaikwad and Sudhir Bhat have clicked photos of a leopard which has been sighted roaming on the roads of Shirshire, Dab, Kudyal and Kalammal in Borim over the last two to three days.
People are afraid since there is a school, kinder garden, primary school and densely built houses in the locality where the leopard has been sighted.
According to locals, stray dogs bark when the leopard comes to the village. There is a danger that the leopard can attack humans or pets at any time. Earlier, the local residents of a colony had appealed to the Forest Department to capture the leopard.
Sarpanch Doming Vaz represents the ward. “We have demanded that the leopard be captured at the earliest,” said one of the villagers. On Saturday morningtoo theleopard, was sighted in the area by a youth.
