Panjim Ex-Mayor lashes out at ‘custodians of capital city’

PANJIM:  Former Panjim Mayor and sitting councillor of the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) Surendra Furtado lashed out at the ‘custodians of the capital city’ and questioned if they cared about what people from Panjim want.

He also hit out at Panjim Mayor Rohit Monserrate and what he labelled as the ‘Monserrate political dynasty’.

“The coffers of the CCP are empty and are being filled at a snail’s pace with some taxes recovered and much more yet to be recovered due to the lack of political will on the part of the current inefficient Mayor,” Furtado alleged.

Furtado further alleged that the Mayor and CCP Commissioner are eyeing the iconic National Theatre to generate small change revenue for the CCP for vested interests.
