PANJIM: This year the feast of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception, Panjim will be held on December 9, instead of December 8.
The feast mass will be at 10 am and will be concelebrated by Archbishop Filipe Neri Ferrao. The other masses will be at 5.30 am, 6.30 am, 7.30 am, 8.30am, 12.30 pm and 5.30 pm.
The offices at the Archbishop’s House at Altinho in Panjim-Goa will remain closed to the public on December 9, a press note issued by the Diocesan Centre for Social Communications Media said. The feast mass will also be covered live by HCN.
Solemnities are the highest degree among feasts. A solemnity is celebrated if it falls on a Sunday of ordinary time or Christmastide. But it is usually shifted to the following Monday if it falls on a Sunday of Advent, Lent or Easter, or during Holy Week or the Easter octave.
