PANJIM: With pay parking to be implemented in the city from September 15, two-wheeler and four-wheeler users will have to pay Rs 2 and Rs 10 respectively for parking their vehicles at 18 places in the capital city, including the busy 18th June road and the Church Square.
The Corporation of the City of Panaji is currently in the process of displaying the sign boards notifying the pay-parking areas in the city.
“The tender has already been issued for pay parking. We would be charging Rs 2 and Rs 10 for two-wheelers and four wheelers respectively from September 15 onwards”, city Mayor Surendra Furtado told Herald. He said that the parking fees would be same as those charged at Patto Plaza.
The North Goa Collector through a notification issued on August 8 had announced the implementation of pay parking at 18 places, which would be effective from September 15.
CCP had on March 28 submitted a proposal for pay parking to the N Goa District Collector for notification. He had said that the proposal was a long- pending one.
