PANJIM: In a bid to avoid the flood-like situations that are a common occurrence in the capital city during the rains, Panjim Mayor Rohit Monserrate and his Deputy Vasant Agshikar inspected the pre-monsoon works across city that was carried out by the Corporation of The City of Panaji (CCP) staff.
Rohit also visited some houses to identify problems in the wards and said they will soon assess which wards need civic-related works on priority.

Regarding the pre-monsoon works, Rohit said they have formed two CCP teams, one at Ribandar and one at Mala and from there on they will try to cover all the wards.
He said works like desilting, cleaning of drains, pruning of trees, etc are being carried out.
