PANJIM: Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC), the nodal agency to implement the Smart City Development Mission and AMRUT scheme, said execution of the projects is as per guidelines set by the Ministry for Urban Development.
“GSIDC is the special purpose vehicle for Smart City project and AMRUT scheme. Representatives from various departments, including the Corporation of City of Panaji and experts are on the SPV. All project related decisions are taken by the committee,” GSIDC Vice Chairman Siddharth Kunkalienkar said on Wednesday.
He was reacting to Panjim Mayor Surendra Furtado’s allegation that GSIDC was bypassing the corporation on the two projects. “We have not bypassed any concerned authority or guidelines on the implementation of the scheme,” Kunkalienkar said denying the allegation and adding that CCP does not have technical or financial powers.
Furtado had warned to expose GSIDC by approaching the Goa Lokayukta complaining how the local body has been sidelined on important developmental projects. “I will expose GSIDC and these schemes soon. I will submit all documents to Lokayukta,” he had said on Tuesday.
