Panjim MLA urged to fulfil Ribandar hospital promise

PANJIM: Social activist Adv Aires Rodrigues on Friday urged Panjim MLA Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate to fulfil his assurance that a full-fledged health centre would be set up at the Old Ribandar Hospital.

Expressing concern that a day dispensary is now being planned, Adv Rodrigues has reminded Monserrate that he had on October 8, 2020 solemnly promised that the health facilities at the Old Ribandar Hospital would start as 30-bedded with a 24×7 casualty-cum-trauma unit equipped with all the required facilities and that it would be expanded in stages to be a full-fledged hospital.

Adv Rodrigues has further stated that the medical facilities at the Old Ribandar Hospital would benefit not only the residents of Ribandar but also fellow neighbouring Bhumiputras in Chimbel, Merces, Old Goa and in the island of Divar.

Adv Rodrigues has appealed to the Panjim MLA to ensure that the promised health care facilities are restored at the historic Ribandar Hospital in this 60th Year of Goa’s liberation.
