The Panjim Police have taken two minors into custody concerning the attempted murder case involving history-sheeter Suryakant Kambli. The arrest followed an incident earlier this week wherein masked assailants brutally attacked Suryakant Kambli with sharp weapons as he entered his car near Ferns Bar, Tonca Caranzalem, around 10 PM. Surya, as he is known, suffered severe facial injuries in the assault and is currently undergoing intensive care at GMC Bambolim. Police gathered a comprehensive statement from Surya after receiving clearance from medical authorities.
“On Wednesday, police apprehended two boys who confessed to the crime. While their documents indicate they are minors, a verification process will be conducted to confirm their status,” stated SP Akshat Kaushal
The case, filed by the Panjim Police under crime number 195/2023, falls under section 307 r/w34 of the IPC. Further investigations are being pursued by Sub-Inspector Mayur Panashikar, under the guidance of Police Inspector Nikhil Palekar.
