PANJIM: Panjim MLA Atanasio Monserrate expressed happiness that the State government had chosen the capital city to be the first solar-powered city of Goa.
It may be recalled that the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), had asked all States to identify at least one city (either the capital city or any renowned tourist destination) to be developed as a Solar City in which all households will have rooftop solar plants and the energy needs of the city will be entirely met by solar energy and other renewable energy sources.
“Panjim’s electrical supply requirements will soon be met entirely met through the roof-top solar power plants,” said Monserrate.
