Panjim Traffic Cell Takes Action Against Noise Menace: Impounds Motorcycle with Modified Exhaust

In a recent crackdown on the growing issue of high-speed bikes and the associated noise pollution, the Panjim Traffic Cell (TC) initiated a targeted drive. During one such operation, decisive action was taken against the rider of a motorcycle identified as Imran Kalburgi from Indira Nagar, Chimbel. The motorcycle in question was found equipped with a modified exhaust silencer, contributing to noise pollution.

The Panjim TC intercepted Imran Kalburgi in Panjim and, upon inspection, discovered the violation of prescribed standards for road safety, noise, and air pollution under section 190(2) of the Motor Vehicles Act. Consequently, the rider was formally booked for the offence, and swift measures were taken to impound the motorcycle.

This proactive enforcement aims to address the growing concerns surrounding noise pollution caused by high-speed motorcycles, emphasizing the importance of adherence to regulatory standards for the overall safety and well-being of the community.
