HERALD: With Manohar Parrikar going to the Centre, will his ambitious projects to develop the capital city face any roadblocks?
Rodrigues: Definitely not. His projects for Panjim were never as MLA of Panjim but as Chief Minister of Goa, who wanted to develop the capital city. All the earmarked projects for the city will continue to flow, step by step.
HERALD: What about ongoing projects like the concretization of roads or construction of jetties?
Rodrigues: The ongoing projects will continue to move at the same speed and we will ensure that they get completed within the set deadlines. There won’t be any setback to these projects. GSIDC has always ensured that it completes its work within the deadline.
HERALD: How do you foresee the future of Panjim as far as development is concerned?
Rodrigues: Panjim is a capital of Goa and whoever may be the Chief Minister, he cannot ignore the city development. Being the capital city, it has to be always the central focus of the government.
