Parents informed on German marathon runner’s death

PANJIM: The parents of the 23-year-old German girl, Christina Kamser, who died during a rain marathon organized by Rotary Club of Porvorim on Sunday have been informed of her death.

PANJIM: The parents of the 23-year-old German girl, Christina Kamser, who died during a rain marathon organized by Rotary Club of Porvorim on Sunday have been informed of her death. 
Police said Christina’s parents have been informed about the incident and the body has been preserved in the GMC morgue for postmortem which will be conducted after they get a response from the German embassy. 
Police also said that Christina was in Goa on a tourist visa and had been staying at Anjuna.  “Christina Kamser, who participated in a rain marathon collapsed soon after she completed the 10-km run,” Agassaim Police Inspector Uday Parab said. She was rushed to GMC, where she was declared ‘brought dead’. Parab said the cause behind Kamser’s death will be known after the postmortem.
The marathon organizers said that five ambulances were available along the route and doctors immediately rushed the girl to the hospital.
