MARGAO: A scooter was badly damaged when it suddenly caught fire where it was parked near St John Convent in Sancoale.
According to Margao Fire Station Officer Gil Souza, it took nearly one hour for the single fire tender that was sent to the spot to control the blaze. He said the firefighters managed to save property worth around Rs 80,000 while the loss was estimated to be about Rs 7,000.
Fire services also cleared the road near Utorda Church which was blocked due to a tree falling across it.
