Parking arrangements announced for IFFI; cops vow to book violators

PANJIM: In the run up to the 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), the Traffic Unit of Goa Police has issued notices to the casinos to strictly follow no parking orders on the D B Bandodkar road. The traffic police have roped in 320 police personnel to ensure proper traffic and parking arrangements. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic Bossuet Silva  informed that the road having entries of the casinos will be strictly made no parking zones. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) Traffic Siddhant Shirodkar said “Notices have been issued to all the casinos and establishments to exercise no parking on the lanes and make full use of the multilevel car parking. We will book cases if violations are noticed”. 

“We are short staffed no doubt but additional arrangements have been made by drawing staff from all units including side and administration branches of the Goa Police. A central pool has been formed for this specific duty and 191 police will be roped in for the closing ceremony,” said Silva.
