Paroda temple offers land for IIT project

CURCHOREM: Curchorem MLA Nilesh Cabral has disclosed that the Management of Chandreshwar Bhutnath Temple, Paroda has assured to offer five lakh square meters of land near Quepem Government Collage for IIT project.
Cabral made the disclosure after laying the foundation stone for beautification of temple at Paroda-Quepem on Thursday.
He informed that the first phase of the beautification will be done by spending around Rs 4.61 crore which will include plinth for flower vendors, archway at entrance, restoration of ancient pathways and illumination.
He also appealed the Devasthan Committee to forward a proposal for construction of ropeway on the hill, which he said, would boost tourism.
Cuncolim MLA Rajan Naik, Director of Tourism Sanjiv Gauns Desai, Devasthan President Adv Harshad Gauns Desai were present on the occasion.
The IIT project proposed at Loliem in Canacona has been facing objection from a section of the locals there, though another group is in favour of the same.
