CALANGUTE: Residents in Parra and adjacent areas, who have rented out their houses to Nigerians, are feeling uneasy after angry reactions from fellow residents in the area.
“Locals regret renting out their premises to Nigerians for extra money and are reconsidering their decision to avoid being targeted by other residents in the village. They have realised that it is better to earn less than to fall in trouble by letting the premises to potential troublemakers,” said a villager from Parra.
Meanwhile, residents in Parra were cautious on Friday fearing a possible retaliation by Nigerians, after two
of them were mercilessly assaulted by locals at Porvorim. However, no untoward incident took place in
the village.
