Parra resident held for fatal accident

MAPUSA: Vithal Nagde, a 19-year-old Parra resident, was arrested by Mapusa police for rash driving resulting in the death of a person on Thursday.
The scooterist Sandip Saptoji suffered serious head injuries when Nagde, riding a bullet, collided with the victim head on. Saptoji was immediately rushed to Goa Medical College (GMC) and hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, on Wednesday evening.
Nagde and his pillion rider suffered minor injuries in the accident.
According to Mapusa police, the accident took place on October 29 around 6 am at Canca. Saptoji was a 45-year-old resident of Colvale. He was travelling on his scooter towards Calangute with his sister.
Mapusa police have registered a case under Sections 279, 337, 338 and 304 against Nagde.
