PANJIM: A day after the Congress demanded proof from the State government that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is healthy, the CM called for a cabinet meeting at his private residence in Dona Paula on October 31. Interestingly, this will be the first cabinet meeting after the Assembly session that ended in early August.
“The cabinet will be held on October 31, at 5 pm at CM’s personal residence at UG-1, Urban Retreat, Caranzalem-Goa,” says a communiqué to the cabinet ministers.
Sources revealed that the Chief Minister will also chair the Investment Promotion Board Meeting on October 30. There have been reports that the CM chaired the IPB meeting on October 19 via video conferencing.
Parrikar, who returned after month-long treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, for pancreatic cancer, is recuperating at his private residence.
The Congress, alleging that the administration has collapsed, demanded that they either be given an appointment with CM or proof of him chairing the IPB meeting be made public.
Asked about the cabinet meeting, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said, “As far as cabinet is concerned I have no idea. So far I have no intimation.”
