Parrikar for Bal Rath at govt schools
HERALD REPORTER
PANJIM, AUG 2
Stating that government is promoting aided schools, Leader of Opposition Manohar Parrikar today criticized the government for not extending the Bal Rath schemes to government schools.
Parrikar expressed shock over the decision to extend the Bal Rath scheme only to government aided schools, under which buses have been given to the schools wherein 20 per cent of the students are STs.
“Since Bal Rath is not given to government schools, the ST students are encouraged to go to private schools,” he stated.
He said that if the same situation continues then there would be no student left in government schools. Further, Parrikar also criticised the government for not signing a MoU with the National Institute of Technology.
“The NIT will be given 300 acres of land but we haven’t signed any MoU to block 50 per cent seats for Goans,” he stated.
