PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is the fountainhead of corruption, whereas his cabinet colleague who has made news for all the wrong reasons, is only a scapegoat for the sins of the Chief Minister, the Nationalist Congress Party has alleged.
Party spokesman Trajano DMello said that the letter which he wrote to the chief minister, has been blatantly ignored, which he said bolstered his claim that the chief minister is involved in the corruption.
It may be recalled that the Bombay High Court at Goa set aside the order of the Administrative Tribunal regularizing the land encroached by the Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar saying that it is illegal. Another litigant had to approach the Mapusa Judicial Magistrate First Class to direct the police to register an FIR against the tourism minister after the police were initially reluctant to investigate the case and only after orders from the JMFC they complied.
“The conduct of the minister has failed a judicial scrutiny, both by the JMFC court and the High Court of Bombay at Goa,” party spokesman said.
Further the state government’s own revenue department has directed the Collector North Goa “to instruct the Administrator of Comunidade North Zone not to process or forward any file pertaining to allotment of land of Serula Comunidade and also to keep all such proposals on hold wherein government approval has already conveyed….”
“In utter contempt of the directions given by the High Court and the Government of Goa, the officials of the comunidade have proceeded to further allot immoveable property to Parulekar in the garb of rehabilitation,” NCP alleged as he demanded a judicial inquiry for appropriate action under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption Act and the Indian Penal Code.
