Parrikar mocks media, Cong over Pak boat incident

CANACONA: Denouncing the unwarranted criticism regarding the infiltration of a boat with links to Pakistan, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Saturday mocked the Congress party for not understanding the nation’s safety aspects.

“We had learnt about the incident one-and-half days before it was made public, but considering the nation’s safety and intelligence necessities, the press was not informed. Had the news been broken earlier, we could have lost whatever intelligence inputs our sleuths had tracked,” said Parrikar, while speaking as chief guest at the Lukosthav-2015 in Adarsh Gram, Poinguinim.
Mocking the media and Congress over criticism of the Pakistan boat that blew itself up at sea, Parrikar said, “Whenever such incidents occur the next time, we will take cameras and the Congress spokespersons and only then will we shoot the infiltrators.”
Responding to ongoing criticism over the State’s financial difficulty, Parrikar said, “Not only the country, but the entire world is going through a financial recession. But even in this difficult scenario, Chief Minister Laximikant Parsekar is doing very well in the State. The country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also recovering well and is controlling this recession.”
