Margao PI Sudesh Naik on Saturday told the media that the accused has pending cases against him at the Nasik police station as well as at Ghatkopar police station. “We have compiled information that accused Faik Mohammed and four others are wanted by the Ghatkopar police for preparing an assault with fire arms. While three of the accused were arrested by the police, Faik along with another accused went into hiding,” PI Sudesh said.
Replying to a question, PI Sudesh ruled out the possibility of the accused being associated with any terror unit or that he had come down to Goa to indulge in any criminal activities. “Our investigations have revealed that he had escaped to Goa to avoid being arrested in Maharashtra. We have not come across any criminal activities in Margao,” he said.
The police has attached the 9 mm pistol and the three bullets, besides three gold chains and five mobiles from the possession of the accused.
