Parrikar road to be inaugurated on Dec 13

MARGAO: The Former Deputy Chief Minister in the Late Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar’s cabinet Vijai Sardesai is prepared to inaugurate the Manohar Parrikar road on the 13th of December, the birth anniversary of Parrikar.
 Nearly, 70 crore rupees have been spent on the completion of this road from Arlem Junction to Ravindra Bhavan. On the 25th of November, a layer of hot-mix carpet will be laid on the road. “This is one of the most modern roads of Goa,” said Vijai.
 Vijai while speaking on the controversies surrounding the naming of this road as well as that of Jack Sequeira statue he said, “There is a resolution to name it Manohar Parrikar road and we will name it for sure. We will call a family member of Manohar Parrikar. There is a need for a signal on this junction. We have sought help from private parties for that” said Vijai while thanking the people for having sacrificed their land and houses demolished for the road development with consent.
  “The persons opposing the statue of Jack Sequeira, Manohar Parrikar road are the same who have opposed Floriano Vaz, St Joaquim circle and Padre Miranda square too” alleged Vijai.
