Vasco: The South Goa Collector declared Gammon Engineer, opposite new RTO office, Baina as a Micro Containment Zone (MCZ) after 20 migrant labourers living in a shed tested COVID positive on Friday.
According to the order issued by the South Goa Collector, information has been received from Health Officer of Urban Health Centre, Vasco that 20 persons belonging to Gammon Engineer, opposite new RTO office, Baina, Vasco, have been tested positive for CovID-19 and the Dy Collector & Sub
Divisional Magistrate, Mormugao, Goa has been requested vide his mail for declaration of Micro Containment Zone.
When contacted, Sachin Desai Dy Collector of Mormugao confirmed that an order has been issued by the South Goa Collector to declare certain area comprising of a shed in which 20 labourers have been tested positive for CoVID-19.
He further said as per the order the area has been declared a Micro Containment Zone.
“All essentials will be provided to these 20 labourers by their contractor. In case any need arises, we will attend to them,” Desai added.
