“The present condition of the road is fairly good, except for a small stretch of road opposite the PWD Complex in Fatorda which was damaged due to laying of water supply line under the JICA scheme. The damaged portion of the road has been repaired by JICA engineers,” PWD Minister Ramkrishna Dhavalikar told the House responding to Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai during Question Hour.
The minister also informed that the road has been proposed for widening even as the work is yet to be tendered. “The land acquisition award has been declared and the compensation has been paid to the affected landlords.”
Vacant possession of land is yet to be given over to the PWD by the Land Acquisition Officer,” he further said, adding that the estimate for road widening is being prepared as per the priority letter of the Fatorda MLA.
