PANJIM: The part-time contract ‘ Samagra Shiksha’ teachers who have held consecutive protests made an announcement on Tuesday that they will be withholding their agitation for now in view of the commencement of school classes from Wednesday, Nov 17.

Dr Pramod Sawant also held a meeting with a delegation of teachers on Tuesday .
“Goa government has offered the striking contract basis teacher 60 % hike in salary. They were getting their salary for 10 months and I increased the duration to 12 months. I have also requested them to withdraw the strike. We have done whatever is possible as per the rules. The onus of accepting or rejecting the offer is now on the teachers,” said CM.
