MARGAO: Collector South Tariq Thomas on Wednesday said the department that acquire land should not only do the mutation to get the land registered in government’s name, but should also do the partition so as not to cause hardships to the owner whose land has been acquired.
A villager from Orlim complained that government departments only carry out the mutation and leave it to the owner of the land to carry out the partition. Due to this, he said, the owners face severe problem for changing the zone or even selling their lands.
