Eleven municipal councils will be going to the polls which will be fought on party lines.
Addressing media persons, BJP Panjim MLA Sidharath Kuncolienkar said the party has been successful in implementing a majority of its 2012 election promises, including reduction of VAT on petrol, welfare schemes like Griha Adhar, Laadli Laxmi, schemes for mining affected people, etc.
“People had reposed their faith in the party during the Lok Sabha elections in 2014 and Zilla Panchayat elections. We are confident that BJP-backed panels will get a clear mandate during the municipal polls,” he said.
On Tuesday BJP registered its second consecutive victory in the Bengaluru Municipal Corporation elections, winning 101 wards, while the Congress bagged 75 seats.
