“Who has locked the district party office. These are all baseless rumours floated by vested interests within the party to create confusion. The keys are with me as I still remain the district president having not received the suspension order till date”, Faldesai told Herald on Saturday evening.
He explained that the district has three sets of keys, which are in the possession of the district president, the office clerk and the general secretary. “No one has put a new lock on the two doors nor has anyone removed the Congress party boards from the office walls”, he added.
When asked how he can still be in possession of the office keys when he has been placed under suspension by the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) for anti-party activity, Faldesai said that he has till date not received any order or correspondence from the party leadership suspending him from the party. “I will sit in the district office on Monday since I am an elected president. Why should I not sit in the office when I have not received any intimation over my suspension”, he asked.
Though Faldesai said no politician has locked the office or has taken over its possession, the issue has raised to the fore the ownership of the district party office and whether the office has been transferred in the name of the party.
