MARGAO: The Deputy Collector of Salcete Ajit Panchwadkar has warned the owners of halls and party venues to take care of the parking, fireworks and garbage woes during events.
Over 23 managers and custodians of the venues, who attended the meeting, were warned that permissions will not be granted to conduct events if they failed to observe the regulations.
The Deputy Collector informed there were genuine complaints that the venues have no proper parking are and the residents in the vicinity have complained that the vehicles cause them lot of inconvenience.
Panchwadkar also informed that the garbage of the public venues was also a problem as the organisers do not dispose their garbage on their own and have been blaming the local administrators. “We will be forced to stop permissions to all the halls in the peak season if you’ll don’t comply with the instructions,” said the Deputy Collector.
“We will also be issuing circulars to have a garbage facility at the halls and will send a medical officer to check on compliance,” said Ajit.
“We also expect you to develop your own parking spot or stop the events. We will also go to the extent of lifting and impounding the vehicles,” the Deputy Collector warned the hall owners.
Prakash Gracias, a hall owner from Majorda, said that there has been a consensus on the reduction of use of fireworks and also on correction of other problems.
