PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Tuesday adjourned the hearing on the petition filed by former Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar against the summons issued to him by North Goa Principal District & Sessions Court in the Serula Comunidade land grab case to July 3.
Similar petitions have also been filed by the other two accused – Peter Martins, then attorney of Comunidade of Serula and Irene Sequeira, then Administrator of Comunidades of Bardez. All three petitions will be heard together on July 3.
North Goa Principal District and Sessions court on June 1 had held that Parulekar had cheated the Serula Comunidade and public at large and that he had ‘falsely appropriated’ comunidade land in collusion with comunidade officials.
The court, in December last year, rejecting the Crime Branch plea to close the case and noting that it was not satisfied with the investigation took cognizance of the complaint filed by Adv Aires Rodrigues and conducted an inquiry.
Rodrigues in his complaint, had alleged that 599 sq mt of prime land on Chogm Road at Porvorim were given to Parulekar without auction and without following the procedure contemplated under the Code of Comunidades.
