margao: The chemists and pharmacists of Goa have requested the Prime Minister and Goa Chief Minister for inclusion in the insurance scheme in line with the proposal given for health workers. Chemists have written to the PM and CM asking for insurance for Covid-19 for chemists and their staff in Goa.
Retailers Chairman of Chemists Association Mackenzie D’costa wrote that it is difficult to operate their chemist shops in the dire pandemic lockdown due to absenteeism of their staff and the health risks involved.
“We also should be included in the insurance scheme announced by the Government for Health Care professionals likewise” said D’costa, while urging his association to give necessary representation to the government immediately.
They argued that insurance for chemists/pharmacists and their pharmacy staff could motivate their staff to join duty.
