MAPUSA: Parts of Bardez continues to remain under darkness for the third consecutive day. While the electricity department managed to restore power in some parts of Bardez, major part of Aldona constituency, Siolim Constituency, Saligao and Porvorim Constituency continued to remain under darkness for the third consecutive day.
After facing hardship for almost three days, by Tuesday evening, power was restored in parts of Calangute Constituency, Thivim Constituency, parts of Siolim and Mapusa which gave major relief to people residing in these areas. However failure of Goverment to restore power of whole taluka created frustration amongst the people.
Electricity supply shut since early Sunday morning caused major inconvenience to people since it affected the water supply too. People had to survive without water and electricity supply till Tuesday evening.
Along with this, people also faced major problem of network in Bardez taluka which was not completely restored even till late Tuesday evening.

Power restored in Pernem Taluka after three days
PERNEM: The electricity department managed to restore power of whole Pernem taluka on Tuesday after facing hardships for almost three days.
While power supply in some areas were restored during the first half of the day, power in remaining areas was restored by late Tuesday evening while giving major relief to the people of Pernem.
Electricity supply which was disconnected on Sunday morning had caused major hardship to people since along with power, water supply was also affected. Pernem fire personnel’s were on their toes working on war footing to clear all the broken electricity poles and uprooted trees.
Tauktae cyclone also affected the network connectivity in Pernem taluka. Network service was also restored completely by Tuesday late evening.

Frustrated locals show up at electricity offices
MAPUSA: Frustrated residents of Mapusa marched to the office of electricity department in Mapusa and later to the substation Ganeshpuri over department’s failure to restore power till late Tuesday evening.
People claimed that even after stating that power will be restored by May 18 Government failed to restore power till late Tuesday. “How come some people got electricity supply while others don’t? We came here to question concern AE and JE. Now they have assured to restore power by Wednesday”, a resident said.
