Patna school set ablaze by angry mob after student’s body found on campus

A private school in Patna was set on fire by an enraged crowd after the body of a three-year-old student was discovered on the campus on Friday. The incident has led to significant unrest, prompting police deployment to manage the situation.

According to reports, the child’s body was found hidden in a drainage gutter within the school premises. The boy’s family began searching frantically after he failed to return home from school. The family grew suspicious when school authorities evaded their inquiries about his whereabouts.

Senior police officials, including Patna Superintendent of Police Chandra Prakash, have launched an investigation into the case. SP Prakash stated, “We were informed late at night by the parents, after which our team reached the spot and started collecting evidence. In the CCTV, we saw that the child was entering the school but at no point can he be seen leaving the school premises… We will investigate it as a murder case as they were hiding the body, which shows criminal intent. We have detained three persons; inquiry is on.”

The discovery of the body and the subsequent lack of transparency from the school authorities ignited public outrage. Locals blocked the road and set the school on fire. Firefighters who rushed to the scene managed to extinguish the flames. Investigation into this matter is ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge as officials continue their inquiries.
