VALPOI: Sattari BDO Amir Parab said Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandals should organise events with dual concept of promoting Indian culture and offering information.
Parab was speaking at the function of taluka-level inter school patriotic singing and elocution competition organised by Valpoi Sarvajanik Ganesh Utsav Mandal (VSGUM) at Laxmibai Memorial Hall, Valpoi. VMC Chairperson Ramdas Shirodkar, Vice Chairperson Idrus Shaikh, Councillor Dharmendra Salunke, former MLA Narhari Haldankar and SGUM President Omkar Parab were present.
Suvera Khan bagged the first place in the elocution competition, while Suchita Haldankar and Siddi Sawant secured second and third places respectively.
Sri Ram High School, Khadki-Sattari won the patriotic song singing competition, followed by GHS Savorde and GHS.
