PANJIM: The pay parking in Panjim has run into trouble with glaring discrepancies in the rates as notified by the government and those that have been painted on the notice boards on the streets.
North Goa District Magistrate’s notification on December 31, 2019 approved Rs 20 for four-wheelers for parking of up to four hours and Rs 15 for every extra hour or part. However, the boards displaying parking fees state that four-wheelers have to pay Rs 20 for the first hour and Rs 15 for every additional hour.
This discrepancy in the rates has left four-wheeler drivers confused and anxious, while also having placed a large question on the pay parking project.
