Pay toilets opened in Mapusa market

MAPUSA: Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza inaugurated pay toilets in Mapusa market on Thursday.
Present on the occasion were Mapusa Municipal Council Chairman Ryan Braganza and councillors.
This Sulabh pay toilets have been constructed at a cost of Rs 29 lakh with 50-50 contribution by MMC and Sulabh International Social Service Organisation.
On the occasion, D’Souza informed that toilets have the latest waterless urinals system which the Sulabh International is going to maintain.
“Further, the MMC has also taken the initiative to upgrade and renovate all the public toilets located in Mapusa market with the same system,” he said.
“People all over the world visit Mapusa for Friday market as well as for daily shopping. For foreign tourists especially, the toilets have to be clean,” he said.
. Sulabh toilets which already exist in Mapusa market will be renovated and upgraded as well as more main points where toilets are required will be identified,” he said.
