The Anjuna Police have arrested a Police Control Room (PCR) driver for allegedly stealing gold jewellery worth ₹7–8 lakh from a grievously injured accident victim earlier this year.
According to police sources, the accused, identified as Saish Parsekar, allegedly removed the victim’s gold ornaments while transporting him to hospital following a serious road accident in Anjuna.

The victim, Jaster Vincent Rodrigues, sustained critical injuries after his car crashed into a tree in Anjuna on January 25, 2026. He was rushed to Asilo Hospital for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigations revealed that the gold jewellery worn by the victim at the time of the accident — estimated to be worth between ₹7 lakh and ₹8 lakh — went missing during transit. Following a probe, Anjuna Police allegedly found evidence linking the PCR driver to the theft.
Police have taken the accused into custody and further investigation is underway to recover the stolen ornaments and determine the full sequence of events.
The incident has raised serious concerns, as the alleged theft occurred while the victim was being transported for emergency medical care. Authorities are continuing their inquiry into the matter.
