A 12 to 14-year-old boy, identified as Zahid Mohammed from Uttar Pradesh, was found wandering alone on Calangute Beach on Sunday. Drishti lifeguards noticed the boy roaming without supervision and, suspecting he was lost, quickly took him into protective custody to ensure his safety. When questioned, the boy reportedly told the lifeguards that he had travelled alone to Goa by train. After providing him with food and care, the lifeguards handed him over to the Calangute Tourist Police for further assistance. Police officials have since launched an investigation to trace his family and verify how he managed to reach Goa unaccompanied. Authorities have commended the Drishti team for their vigilance, prompt response, and compassion, which ensured the child’s well-being and prevented any untoward incident. The case has drawn attention to child safety and the need for greater awareness among parents and guardians.
