MARGAO: Ramesh Gaonkar, the physical education teacher arrested by Cuncolim police for alleged sexual grooming of eight school children, was produced before the Goa Children’s Court, where a three-day remand was obtained.
The statements of the eight children who were targeted by Gaonkar were recorded under Section 164 of the CrPC by the court.
The case came to light when the headmistress of the school lodged a complaint with the Cuncolim police, alleging that Gaonkar had molested a minor student. Police have also requested antecedent reports from the Directorate of Sports regarding the physical education teacher.
