MARGAO: A peacock was rescued at Majorda by Francis (Rocket) Pacheco from Navelim which was handed over to Forest Official Julio Quadros.
The peacock was injured in an accident after a car dashed it when it was crossing the road. Francis intervened when some people wanted to take the peacock by putting it in a cage.
He along with former Majorda Sarpanch Laxmi Gonsalves later handed over the bird to the forest official.
The injured peacock has since been handed over to the Bonda zoo official for treatment.
