Suspended TCP draftsman held

PANJIM: The Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested suspended Town and Country Planning's (TCP) draftsman Ramesh Naik, in connection with the collapse of the under partly construction Ruby Residency building at Canacona in January.

PANJIM: The Crime Branch on Wednesday arrested suspended Town and Country Planning’s (TCP) draftsman Ramesh Naik, in connection with the collapse of the under partly construction Ruby Residency building at Canacona in January. 
Sources said he has been booked for alleged irregularities, negligence and dereliction of duty while dealing with files pertaining to Bharat Developers & Realtors Pvt Ltd which has been held responsible for the sub-standard works. 
“He committed serious irregularities in handling the file of the developer,” said the officer. 
The Crime Branch had arrested around five officers including a contractors for the offence of which three former chief officers of Canacona Municipal Council have been bailed out. The five-storey Ruby residency collapsed on January 4 resulting in the death of 31 labourers and injuring many more.
