A huge peepal tree came crashing down on the Shri Sateri Temple in Podwal, Corjuem on Sunday at 4:30 in the evening. The tree also brought down electricity poles with high-tension lines.
Fire officials immediately rushed to the site and cleared the tree with the help of locals. No casualties were reported when the tree fell.

However, the temple incurred a loss of Rs 1.5 lakh. The damaged electricity lines left the village in darkness.
