As it was witnessed in past there were scams even in collection of parking fees in the capital city, which made the people more cautious. Once such information had reached Herald that a contractor was charging twice the prescribed fees in the tender document.
After getting a proof at the KTC bus terminal where people were charged twice the amount mentioned on the contract, Herald carried a report after verifying the facts and documents.
Currently the fee collectors charge the prescribed parking rate as per the tender and people are now aware of the correct fee and have started demanding for a correct fee receipt as proof.
