PONDA: Ravi Naik, a cabinet minister in Goa said people in India are alive because Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the production of Covid vaccines in India.
Addressing a gathering at Ponda bus stand during a campaign meeting for BJP South Goa Lok Sabha candidate Pallavi Dempo, Ravi hailed the Prime Minister and said it is because of the (approval to the) vaccine by Modi that people in the country are alive today.
The minister was apparently oblivious of the international controversy surrounding the possibly fatal effects of the vaccines, with AstraZeneca, manufacturers of the vaccine branded as Covishield.
The UK-headquartered pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca (AZ) has admitted that in “very rare cases” its Covid vaccine can cause a blood clot related side effect but the causal link is unknown, according to court papers being quoted in the UK media.
